It is with heavy heart that the Officers and Members share the passing of Board of Director member and Canteen 714 Driver Richard "Dick" Bauer. Dick could always be seen at UMCVFD events such as the 4th of July Fireworks, Poolesville Day and Open House. His true passion, at the station, was interacting with the children during the Santa Breakfast and the model train set. He was the sweetest neighbor to my family!

What a great tribute! He loved blowing the train whistle he had for the kids - young and old! I will always remember setting the trains up with him. Deepest condolences to Ann and Rick and the rest of the family.

Today's UMCVFD ambulance crew took advantage of some drill time to simulate vehicle stabilization.

Using your imagination, the red lockers are a car on its side. The black pole is an anchor point.

The braces prevent the vehicle from falling back onto its wheels. The straps prevent the vehicle from falling forward onto its roof.

This method provides clearance for victim extrication from the vehicle passenger compartment.
