May is National STOP THE BLEED Month

Webmaster UMCVFD    May 21, 2020    No Comments

Learn how to respond when an accident occurs. You could save a life.
The purpose of the STOP THE BLEED® campaign is to make our nation more resilient by better preparing the public to save lives if people nearby are severely bleeding. The person next to a bleeding victim may be the one who’s most likely to save him or her.
Minutes count! Someone who is severely bleeding can bleed to death in as little as 5 minutes. That’s why bleeding control—keeping the blood inside the body—is the purpose of STOP THE BLEED® training.
Preparation is being done by raising awareness and teaching people how to learn three quick actions to control serious bleeding.
  1. Apply pressure with your hands
  2. Apply dressings and press hard on the wound
  3. Apply a tourniquet extremely tightly
The film “A Perfect Stranger” is a powerful reminder that at a moment’s notice, any one of us might find ourselves in a situation where we are the help until help arrives. The film calls on all Americans to remake what it means to be a bystander.

I’m almost 40 years old and THIS is what I look forward to each Christmas. So glad Santa and UMCVFD were able to make this happen!

great idea on how to track Santa...it's cool to see where he is

Elizabeth’s Delight residents thank you!

Merry Christmas Poolesville! Great idea to have a tracker this year!

I love this option

Awe man. I think he skipped Chiswell and we turned all the lights on for him. Stay warm and safe!

Headed to Hunter's run (passing halmos)

Such a wonderful Poolesville tradition! Thank you!! 🎅🏼

Yes thank you! We look forward to this every year!

So much fun for old and young, thank you.

I know it says there is a 5 to 15 second delay etc

Thank you so much for this beautiful tradition!!!!!! Happy Holidays UMCVFD!!!

This is a genius idea!!!

Just went down hersperger!! Moving fast!

God Bless these amazing people.

Thank you to all for making this happen this year!!

They used to play music...is that not done anymore?

We are awaiting on Hoskinson Rd

He just came by Hempstone

Thank-you Santa and all the helpers. Even us "older folks" never get tired of your ride through town!

Thank you so much 😀😀😀😀😀

Santa is returning to the station where he will disembark and be heading back to the North Pole!

Some of the elves must’ve needed breaks as well. 😀

Santa has arrived at Upper Montgomery station 14 and is getting ready to get up onto the fire engine
