4th of July Fireworks

The viewing area is at the field located at the intersection of Hughes and Sugarland Roads.  If you are unfamiliar with the area, set your GPS to 15598 Hughes Rd, Poolesville, MD 20837, or you can click here for directions.

Parking Directions & Fees

Coming from Poolesville (Sugarland Rd - Hughes Rd) turn right, into the Parking Area 1 area. Follow police and parking staff directions.

Coming in from the South (River Road to Hughes) turn left, into the Parking Area 2. Follow police and parking staff directions.

  • Drop-offs and turnarounds are strongly discouraged. Prior to the event, traffic flow is inbound only, and there is no practical way to exit once you’ve entered the parking line. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we work to keep traffic moving safely and smoothly!

A nominal $10 per car Parking Fee is charged. This event is NOT Taxpayer Funded.  It is supported by the Town of Poolesvile, the Poolesville Area Chamber of Commerce, and the Upper Montgomery County Volunteer Fire Department. The land is privately owned. The Firefighter, EMS, and Auxiliary members are ALL volunteers donating their time and service to make this event safe and enjoyable for everyone. Revenue from parking goes directly back into the 4th of July Fireworks expense fund.  Please have $10 in cash ready for the attendant when asked. Please do not park along Hughes Road.

Prohibited Items

Respect and follow Police and Parking Attendant directions.
Please remember:
  • No beer, no wine, no alcohol- Any coolers may be MCPD inspected
  • No pets
  • No open flames such as BBQ Grills, Candles, etc.

Medical Assistance

Should you need medical assistance or experience a medical emergency during the event, Upper Montgomery volunteer Firefighter/EMTs will be available to render aid. Flag down one of the staff or proceed to the Upper Montgomery Ambulance A714 present at the event.

Rest Rooms

Portable lavatories will be available at the field. Please dispose of your trash in the trash receptacles located throughout the field.
