It is with heavy heart that the Officers and Members share the passing of Board of Director member and Canteen 714 Driver Richard "Dick" Bauer. Dick could always be seen at UMCVFD events such as the 4th of July Fireworks, Poolesville Day and Open House. His true passion, at the station, was interacting with the children during the Santa Breakfast and the model train set. We ask that you keep his wife Ann, our Auxiliary President, and Family in your thoughts and prayers. ... See MoreSee Less

He was a GREAT guy .Enjoy talking with him when he would stop by the station .

He was the sweetest neighbor to my family!

What a great tribute! He loved blowing the train whistle he had for the kids - young and old! I will always remember setting the trains up with him. Deepest condolences to Ann and Rick and the rest of the family.

Ann He will be so missed at the firehouse. Our thoughts are with you and your family. If you need anything please just ask. ❤️

So sorry to hear. Our deepest condolences to Anne and the family and the Fire Dept and Auxiliary families. Prayers for all. 🙏

Peace to all who grieve.

My thoughts and prayers are with Ann, his family, and the entire UMCVFD and Auxiliary. Dick was a great man.

So sorry to hear of Ricks, Passing. Good and active friends of Roy and I . Ann was a sweet heart to me at Roy's death and I had full support from the Fire Dept, during that time,

Sending our love and prayers to Ann and his family! 💔🙏

RIP Dick and prayers to your wife and family.

Dang! Total bummer. Rest easy🙌🏼

Sincere condolences and prayers for Anne and her family.

Sending all our love. We live just down the street and always enjoyed talking with Dick outside as he walked his dogs Nemo and Bandit daily. The kids also loved seeing the model train set up at the Santa Breakfast, and chatting with him about it ❤️

Thoughts, love and prayers going out to Ann and family.

Today's UMCVFD ambulance crew took advantage of some drill time to simulate vehicle stabilization.

Using your imagination, the red lockers are a car on its side. The black pole is an anchor point.

The braces prevent the vehicle from falling back onto its wheels. The straps prevent the vehicle from falling forward onto its roof.

This method provides clearance for victim extrication from the vehicle passenger compartment.
